Supply List for Wearables Classes

All WEARABLES classes…GIVE IT AN “ATTITUDE” ABOUT YOU

SPECIFICS for this class may refer to other class lists (example: sashiko stitching supplies) and can be fine-tuned to an exact list of materials, as conference or guild selects embellishment theme. Generally, these supplies will be needed for all wearables:
  • FOR ALL CLASSES supply list
  • a pattern with minimum design cuts (avoid detailed seaming and select a style that easily adjusts through shoulder and side seams
  • primary fabric in firmly woven texture: medium-weight cotton or low-slub linen in solid or muted colors are good choices
  • accent fabrics—1-3 pieces in 1yard units, complimentary to primary fabric—useful for bias binding, pocket or collar trims, yokes, insets, etc. Stripes, checks, or --a theme that compliments primary fabric in colors and motif
  • fusible woven interfacing (same yardage as primary fabric)—will be used to give body to the primary fabric
  • applique option—add a 2-way fusible stabilizer (ex. Wonder-under)
  • decorative threads option—refer to threads and needles in FOR ALL CLASSES supply list and bring broad selection
  • other options—bring buttons, notions, etc. that are a consideration for embellishment
